Community Bandfest

The legendary musical entrepreneur Professor C.F. Thiele filled Waterloo Park with band festivals that drew crowds of 25,000 and attracted bands from across North America.

Professor C.F. Thiele leads the Waterloo Musical Society Band down a tree-lined street in 1947.

The Waterloo Concert Band modestly continues that tradition with its annual Community Bandfest, a mid-June gathering of a variety of musical groups from the surrounding area for a celebration of outstanding performances.
